  • Upward Bound Saturday classes tomorrow! Arrive on time, get a raffle ticket, and a snack to eat. To be early is to be on time!
  • March 14th from 1-4 pm in Roone Arledge Cinema, Lerner Hall, screening of the amazing film, “First Generation.” Narrated by Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood, FIRST GENERATION tells the story of four high school students - an inner city athlete, a small town waitress, a Samoan warrior dancer, and the daughter of migrant field workers - who set out to break the cycle of poverty and bring hope to their families and communities by pursuing a college education. This 95 minute documentary explores the problem of college access faced by first generation and low-income students and how their success has major implications for the future of our nation.  There’ll be a panel to answer all your questions.   • SPRING 2015 COLLEGE TRIP! On our two day-three night trip, we’re going north. Thanks to the support of the Macquarie Group Foundation, DDC’s Spring 2015 College Trip will take place April 6-8.  We’re visiting Bard College, Williams College, SUNY Albany, Skidmore College, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and SUNY New Paltz.   • DNA Science Camp! Are you interested in molecular genetics and modern biotechnology? Do you want to learn more about DNA? There’s an awesome STEM program for students who will be available during April break. DNA Science Camp provides extensive lab experience with the basic techniques of recombinant DNA, including DNA restriction and ligation, bacterial transformation and plasmid isolation.
