Denise De Las Nueces
Denise De Las Nueces, MD, MPH, is a board-certified internal medicine and addiction medicine physician with a focus on historically disadvantaged populations. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University and subsequently studied at Harvard Medical School before training at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. De Las Nueces was granted a Commonwealth Fund Fellowship in Minority Health Policy and completed a Master of Public Health degree in Health Policy from the Harvard School of Public Health after completing her residency training. She joined the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP) in 2012.
Dr. De Las Nueces has been recognized as one of Boston’s Top 40 under 40 Leaders by the Boston Business Journal and has received a 40 Under 40 Leaders in Health Award from the National Minority Quality Forum. She served as Medical Director of BHCHP for seven years before taking on the role of Chief Medical Officer. After a year-long stint as Interim CEO, she has returned to the CMO role for the program. She holds an academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine at Boston University and sits on the board of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation. Dr. De Las Nueces also serves as a member of the Health Equity Compact, a group of over 65 leaders of color from a diverse set of Massachusetts organizations and sectors who aim to advance health equity in Massachusetts.
